Card monthly budget explained

When creating a card, you can assign it a monthly budget. A monthly budget is the maximum amount that can be spent using that card in a single month.

The card will never exceed its monthly budget.

• If the card's monthly budget is $100 and your business has an available credit of $10,000, the maximum amount that can be spent using the card is $100.

The card will also never exceed your business's available credit.

• If the card's monthly budget is $100 and your business currently has an available credit of $50, the maximum amount that can be spent on the budget card is $50.

• The card’s monthly budget resets at the start of each billing cycle.

Ask the owner or an admin to:

• Increase your card’s monthly budget.
• Create a new virtual card for specific vendors or expense type. Learn more in our Tips for using Virtual Cards guide.

Set a monthly budget when you Create a virtual or physical card. If you create a card without a budget, you won’t be able to add one later.

You cannot remove a monthly budget once it’s set. However, you can easily adjust it by editing the card to increase or decrease the monthly limit.
