Upload an invoice or receipt

Easily organize and store your invoices and receipts alongside their corresponding transactions to keep a clear record of your expenses.

Step-by-Step guide

There are three ways to upload your an invoice or receipt:

1. Manual upload

  • In your portal, locate the transaction you want to attach a file to.
  • Click the transaction to open its details view.
  • Click or drag and drop your file onto the Upload your invoice and receipt area.
  • That’s it! Your file is automatically uploaded and linked to the transaction.

2. Reply to the New Transaction email notification

  • Each time you make a purchase, you'll receive an email with the transaction details.
  • Reply to the email and attach your invoice or receipt.
  • Our system will automatically link the attachment to the corresponding transaction.

Not receiving notification for new transactions? This notification may have been turned off in your Notification Settings. See our guide on Manage notifications and ensure to turn on the All Transactions notifications.

3. Send an email to your Team’s Designated Invoice Email

You can delegate invoice and receipt upload! Any team member—even those without a card—can forward invoices or receipts to your business-designated invoices email address. It’s a great option for anyone responsible for organizing and archiving receipts on your behalf.
  • In your portal, click any transaction to open its details view.
  • You’ll find your team’s designated invoice email under the Upload your invoice and receipt section (see image below).
  • You or anyone on your team can forward invoices or receipts to the provided @getmercantile.com email address.
    • ⚠️ Note: The sender must be an invited team member on your portal and use the email linked to their account for the upload to work.
  • Our system will automatically link the invoice(s) to the corresponding transaction(s).
